Well, the year is almost over. I have one more week with students and then a few days of clean-up in my class before leaving for the summer. What a ride.
Next year…
That has been my motto for the past two months. There is so much that I am going to change but I am not going to get into that here. Suffice it to say that if next year goes how this year went then I am going to find a different line of work. I thoroughly enjoyed myself but the stress level is tremendous. I thought that calling in air strikes in the service was stressful. Being a public school teacher definitely can get just as harry. Such as when a young lady is using the f-bomb as an adjective, adverb, noun, pronoun, etc… walking down the hall to where she is trying to beat the poop out of another girl for supposedly “snitching” on her. Instead of playing the “I can’t lay my hands on you so I am going to corral you by keeping my body in front of you dance” I decided to pick her up and throw her in a classroom and then shut the door while the halls cleared out. It is on tape and I found out that it is okay to do that if you do it to protect another student. But you still have to be careful with how you touch them and what language you use.
Eye-opening. I am looking forward to next year, especially since my schooling will be finished by Christmas!, except my practicum but it is very easy after Christmas. Plus, we will have our second child born, Levi Alexander. I am hoping to get involved with maybe baseball in the spring. I would like to coach that or/and cross country. Time will tell.
Thanks for reading. Sorry I have not posted in a bit but you cannot imagine how busy the end of the year gets and the students loose their minds after spring break.
See you around!
